Hello Mr. Helnwein
I am 15 and I go to an arts highschool. I love painting with acrylics, and lately I've been in the mood to paint but so far everything I've done has turned out disgusting. So much I hate to even look at it. I'm about to start a new one, in which the drawing is very detailed, but I'm afraid it will turn out bad and I'll just waste a bunch of canvases and my paints. I know I just need practice but I was curious how you make your paintings (like: "Untitled (Modern Sleep) 2005")so realistic. Creating lifelike skin tones, perfect eyes, and creating the right shadow; everything just flows.
Your amazing at what you do, and hope to see one of your galleries eventually.

Very startling imagery. I found the sleeping angels series very moving and powerful. I would have to agree with the Burroughs quote. In a world where you believe you've seen everything already, it is rare to see something truly new.

I've never seen anything like it before. I mean your art, your photographs, the way you present them, I just can't believe it. Amaizingly powerful, simple but great, linear but majestic... Is it because we have to dream more, and stop looking at reality? Is it because we have to listen to our feelings, follow them, and not to be ashamed of them?
I can just recognize those moods, but not express them or face them.

i have always loved your website and i think your work is very well put together.. i am also an artist and i can see the tecniques you use are excellent, do you have any work coming up in ireland in the near future? i think alot of this country we live in is filled with alot of "easy" art that can please the eye but in doing so can burn your wallet! and for what? another "flower" in a field to hang decorativly above the fire place? you inspired and creat things that make people use there minds and train there eyes to see real power and creativity! so in that i have much respect for you!

Dünyaya da ancak ve ancak böyle olaylar ders olabiliyor; biraz kıpırdamak gerek, başka türlü olmuyor; tanıksınız!..

Hey!
Kenn dich zwar nich, und will trotzdem was sagen...studiere seit drei Jahren Kunst und habe jetzt festgestellt, dass meine bilder deinen ähnlich sind...sie machen ebenfalls sprachlos und erschüttern...naja. Frage mich nun, wie du das machst, so viel davon zu machen und so pervekt??? bin echt neidisch...woher nimmst du die Kraft, die Nerven? Ich habe bald Diplomarbeit...und total ausgebrannt...will mein Thema durchsetzen...und wie heißt es doch so schön:entweder man tut es oder nicht und wenn man nicht kann? wenn man muss, aber nicht kann? bin echt verzweifelt...weiß schon, dass ich keine Antwort krieg...

Ein Jahr ist es nun her, dass mein Freund und ich Sie bei ihrer Austellung am 19.Juni 2005 in Oberhausen geknuddelt haben. Hinzu kommt eine Zeichnung mit einem Autogramm! Wir waren sehr stolz darauf und sind es noch heute. Wir kamen extra mit einem Flieger aus Berlin gereist und verirrten uns mehr als 2 stunden, bis wir schon das riesige Manson-Plakat erkannten! Das nannten wir Freude und Erleichterung zugleich! Ich schenkte meinem Baby(der nebenbei gesagt hobbykünstler ist und einen Kunstwettberwerb gewann, bis jetzt zwar nur magere 3 austellungen hatte/die 4.folgt/ABER DAS WIRD NOCH!!) diesen Ausflug zu seinem 18.Geburtstag! Kurz darauf meinte er zu mir:`"solltest du es nochmal schaffen, mich und Helnwein in einen Raum zu bringen und mir die Möglichkeit bieten mit ihm ein Bier zu trinken, so bleib ich mein Leben lang mit dir zusammen".. So kitschig es auch klingt, mein Entschluss stand fest: Ich werde Sie, Herr Helnwein, darum bitten nächstes Jahr am 6.Mai 07 mit meinem kleinen Künstler ein Bierchen zu schlürfen, denn er ist die Liebe meines noch nicht richtig angefangenen Lebens!
Ehlich gesagt halte ich das für unmöglich und unwahrscheinlich, aber ein Versuch war es trotz allem wert!
Ich würde mich auf eine Antwort von Ihnen sehr freuen!

A la recherche de clients, dans un hôtel, je connaissais une jeune femme qui trouvait matière dans les yeux des autres, les yeux des autres étant proches, puisqu'ils collaient leurs yeux de poissons aux siens, inutile de dire qu'elle a fait frire ce poisson, cette couleur argentée et cette chair si tendre et savoureuse, bien qu'elle ne soit pas quelqu'un qui connaisse la bonne chaire de Saint Pierre.
Et bien cette période de vie était presque aussi esthétique et forte que le travail de Helnwein.
Sinon, elle aimait les amuses-gueules, à l'époque où ils s'appelaient encore comme ça.

Wir haben über sie in Bildnerische Erzieung gelernt. Als ich dei Bilder im Film sah haben mich einige sehr mitgenommen. Ich weiss wie es ist eine Verletzung zu haben, denn mir wurde bei einem Unfall fast der halbe Oberschenkel weggerissen.
Mir fehlt ein viertel Muskel und bei der Verletzung am Unterschenkel ist mir die Haut am Knochen festgewachsen. I Freibad werde ich dan immer behandelt als ob ich eine tödliche Krankheit hätte, dan komm ich mir vor wie das letzte stück Dreck.
