Manson ha rivelato sul suo sito ufficiale l’intenzione di intraprendere “un progetto multimediale basato sulla provocazione e sul caos” insieme a Helnwein. Secondo il cantante, la collaborazione con l’artista austriaco “stupirà positivamente molti e farà discutere i benpensanti”. Anche se Manson non si è dilungato più di tanto in dettagli sul progetto, siamo sicuri che gli amanti delle provocazioni del Reverendo non vedono l’ora di saperne di più.

...This unease with, and yet celebration of German-language cutlure continues to inform Helnwein's work, not least in this large piece, "The Silent Glow of the Avant Garde"
Helnwein's painting - both cheekily and totally in homage - appropriates the great paintings, "The Polar Sea" (1824) by the leading German Romantic landscape artist Casper David Friedrich. Helnwein here re-renders the painting in a gloomy, cinematic blue-black duochrome, and hugely magnifies it from its original scale (about 1 metre by 1 metre 30), although the foundered ship still seems dwarfed and pulverised by the splintering ice sheets. It remains a fine example of that particularly Germanic celebration of heroic humanity dashing itself against the majestic cruelty of nature.
Helnwein, in his wry title and borrowing of the image, is suggesting an uncomfortable paradigm behind Friedrich's painting - a perpetual sense of momentous revolution within nature, raw humanity and indeed artistic culture. These ideas pervaded Friedrich's work, as well as that of composer Richard Wagner and philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche - all of whose works were later so mistakenly absorbed into the "superhuman" aesthetic of Nazi ideaology and doctrine... ...

Are you one of those people who say, "Everything has been done!" I used to be, until I started reading publications and seeing what the contemporary art world has to offer. In some cases, it is true that the regurgitation of past styles doesn't go above par, but some artists really venture into new ground. Gottfried Helnwein is a cross between Andy Warhol and old style Gerhard Richter. His techique is incredibly precise like photo-realism. His subject matter is dark and sometimes sarcastic. Helnwein has some interesting discussions about the fine art industry on his busy web site. He is praised by Marilyn Manson, who is quite a watercolor artist himself. ...

Helnwein has attracted controversy in the field of visual arts because of his bold references to, amongst other things, Nazi imagery and the holocaust.
Writing on his official website, Manson said he his to undertake a "multi-media-prop chaos" project with Helnwein, which he thinks will "please many and enrage more". However, he was unwilling to give full details.
In recent weeks Manson has taken time out from recording his new album 'The Golden Age Of Grotesque', and flown back to New York to complete his scenes for the film 'Party Monster', in which is has a part.

Thanks to Cyril, his son, we met some time ago and are now collaborating.

I am too exhausted to reveal the details of our work but it is multi-media-prop chaos that I know will please many and enrage more. I am honored to work with him...and he is having a gallery exhibit this Thursday in LA that I will be attending.
