CONTROVERSIAL artist Gottfried Helnwein is to exhibit a collection of his work at an Irish gallery. Helnwein, whose work was vandalised while on display at the Kilkenny Arts festival in 2001, is to show a selection of paintings most of which focus on the childThe painter, who hosted the wedding last year of singer Marilyn Manson and Dita Von Teese at Gorteen Castle in Tipperary, has in the past been criticised for using Nazi and religious imagery.

His Modern Sleep collection runs at the Fenton Gallery, Wandes-ford Quay, Cork, from September 16 to October 7.Among those believed to be attending the opening is Michael Flatley.
