Helnwein’s “Angel Sleeping” exhibition can best be described as “death in the image world”. The stark and sometimes disturbing images demand the viewer to investigate the contemporary images of death within a sociological, philosophical and historical approach.
According to Liam Rellis, Director of the Waterford Fringe Festival, “Warhol has been described as the Pre-Helnwein. Gottfried Helnwein’s work has a stark and deep quality that cannot be ignored.
